Back in 2012 ACP (Concrete) Ltd supplied Nottinghamshire farmer and businessman, Brian Wells, with 6m high prestressed concrete panels for a surcharged grain store with an innovative grain cooling system at Ruddington. This year Mr Wells is looking to expand the business and another two stores are planned for construction in 2016, taking total storage capacity to 50,000 tonnes. Replicating a successful formula and pleased with the service & quality product from ACP in 2012, Mr Wells has placed another order for 280mm panels with the company.
ACP Concrete Ltd designed, supplied and installed the precast concrete panels that formed the cooling labyrinth at the £30 million Big Data Institute, which is phase 2 of the Li Ka Shing Centre for Health Information and Discovery at the university of Oxford. The building has been nominated for the BE&E awards rewarding innovation and achievement in energy efficiency in buildings across the UK.
Boiler House Wall Under Construction
ACP's installers began work on the site at Snetterton Renewable Energy Plant in late August and, despite a delayed start due to other trades overrunning, completed Phase's 1 and 2 on time. The 25m high boiler house wall was first to go up, closely followed by the 9m high straw barn wall, in all 1270sq metres with another 1430sq metres to follow in Phase's 3 & 4.
ACP Concrete's installation team began work on the retaining wall for Dudley Canal Trust's new Portal after Easter. Following an initial enquiry from main contractors, Speller Metcalfe Ltd, in December and a meeting on site in January earlier this year ACP Concrete Ltd was selected as the supplier of the retaining wall structure for the new Portal building which incorporates an entrance & ticket facility, café, and gallery.
